Find Your Discount Coupons Here!

Do you look for discounts off an online purchase? I try to and many times don't accomplish much. I find that many coupon sites have codes but they have either expired or simply don't work. Sometimes they are the same codes as already available on the merchant's own site.

While buying some pet supplies the other day, I assumed that I was not going to find a code from my usual sites. The merchant was offering $8. off a purchase of $100 or more. I did another search and came across the site: www.couponseven.com. And was I a happy camper! I found a 15% off coupon code and it had an expiration date toward the end of March.

When going to the home page of my new find, I was surprised at how many merchants/companies list coupons with them.

I checked out, applied the code and all worked
.

Where to find: www.couponseven.com

Hopefully you will find merchants you like and save money at the same time.

P.S. For some reason I cannot get the link to this site to go directly from this post, so cut and paste this time. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Feng Shui: To Be or Not to Be!

I have never been a believer in Feng Shui, but with our lives going in so many complicated directions, I thought I would pay some attention to this way of doing things.

This morning on the Today Show I watched Ken Lauher, a Feng Shui expert, discussing the bedroom since Valentine's Day is slowly approaching.

Who would have known that a king sized bed, with two separate mattresses, splits the energy? A bed with one side against a wall...not a good idea. Exercise equipment in the far right corner of your bedroom, as you look into the room, well...another idea gone bad.

I just looked at a video on his site about the front door/entrance, to your home.

All interesting, even if only to start you thinking.

Now, will we all start redecorating?

Avoid Some Germs on Your Next Flight

Look at this new idea: a seat cover for the seat on your flight! I just received this email from Bed Bath and Beyond.

I usually take wipes with me and wipe down as much as I can on my seat, arm rests, tray tables, you name it. This seat cover takes trying to be germ free to the next level. If you have done any reading, you would know how seldom a plane gets a full cleaning. They may vacuum after each flight, but not much else.

Actually, if you wear a mask, you are smarter than I am.

Even though I am writing about this product, I have not yet tried using this and am not sure how well this will work. I called customer service at Bed Bath and Beyond to get additional info, such as how big of a seat will this fit over, and am still waiting for a response. I will write an update as soon as I obtain more information.

In the meantime if there is a market for this, it means someone knows that these seats are not too clean!

Climate Change: What are you doing about it?

Climate change is real: While reading The Washington Post, I came across an article about this website: www.350.org which states:

350.org is an international campaign dedicated to building a movement to unite the world around solutions to the climate crisis--the solutions that science and justice demand.

Our mission is to inspire the world to rise to the challenge of the climate crisis—to create a new sense of urgency and of possibility for our planet.

Staples, It Doesn't Get Any Easier!

Did anyone say customer service was a thing of the past? If so, you haven't shopped at staples.com.

Time and time again, I have had positive experiences when calling their customer service. In fact, I have a Business Rewards Card and an account executive to call if I need anything. I also get coupons in the mail good for money off purchases of a specific amount.

Try getting that from a company where you aren't a big spender!

As you have seen from my posts, I buy online wherever possible, so I am not talking about going into a Staples store. As long as I place an online order for $50 or more, I get free delivery and usually by the next day. No carrying big boxes, no gas, no hassle.

And to prove how helpful they are, I will relate a story: The other day I purchased 2 packages of paper, in the store for a change because it was such a good deal - a $4 rebate per package. Somehow, I lost my receipts going in and out of the car. I called Staples Customer Service and they took all my info so they could send me copies, but suggested I call the store. I spoke to the manager of the store where I purchased the paper and he faxed me a duplicate receipt, good for return but not for the rebate. The reason I could not get the rebate was that each receipt is good for that particular purchase which has a rebate ID number on the receipt and can't be duplicated. He suggested that I return the paper, and then re-purchase it, giving me a new receipt and new rebate ID number.

Done in no time and then I quickly submitted the rebate online, so no hassle whatsoever.

Hey, I now get back $8 in cash for a purchase of $10. Not a bad deal! (I know I had to drive to the store again, but being that this was my fault and that I was near one anyway while doing errands, it was OK.)

AVATAR - The Movie - So What?

Once in a while I will deviate from the purpose of my blog in order to vent.

Want to see one dimensional characters in a 3-D movie? I did that exact thing last week. What a let down. Here are my issues:

The 3-D took away from the movie. At times it made things look less realistic, out of focus or distracting.

The actors recited their lines without any emotion. We've seen this storyline before. I felt that the movie lacked soul, only offering us special effects. Not to take away from the power of these special effects - they were great - but is that all there is?
As for the music, it was bad Titanic re-do. I couldn't wait to get out of the theater while the music played during the credits.

And please tell me why, if this movie takes place in 2157, do the aircraft, guns, explosives etc., look as if they are only a few years ahead of us instead of 147 years from now? I laughed at the fact that the soldiers had to do a Wii version of fighting while sitting in huge metal robots. Again, this far into the future should have given us more interesting battle scenes. "Iron Man" looked more advanced.

All the hype and excitement leading up to this movie left me underwhelmed and not thinking about it again once leaving the theater.

Of course you will go to see it. Just bring food to eat in case you need something else to do!
